All the pretty things….

Hi again everyone, how are we all doing? Truth be told I’ve not been doing a great deal of photography over recent weeks due to not being able to go where I want to go and the day job needing more from me recently. What I have been doing away in the background is adding …

Yes, we are all missing gigs…

There are many things I love about Teesside, but one thing that stands out for me is the local music scene, and it’s where my photography started. I have always loved the Teesside music scene, from my first gig going outings in the 80’s with bands like President, The Lovehearts, Glass Echo and Empires and …

Wedding Photography – my approach…..

So to that end I offer a wedding photography service that is built completely around the wants and needs of the couple, whilst also offering advice, guidance and my own experience. Your Day……. Thoughts on my landscape photography

I just want to spend a little while talking about how I approach landscape photography. Now this is not me saying this is the right way, it’s just my way, and my way has changed quite a lot since I first started. Photographing any landscape, street scene, mountains, rivers, lakes or architecture takes all sorts …

When I launched my new website I didn't have any decent images of myself, so just before the latest tier 4 regulations I headed off over to the Jetta Sneddon Photography studio to put that right. Thanks so much Jetta x

Really really pleased with the results, I now have a set of images which I feel reflect what I do. But boy it's super hard seeing yourself on the other side of the camera

The West Coast of Scotland gives us some spectacular summer sunsets. These long exposure images were taken from Gourock on the Clyde Estuary when I was there a couple of years ago. ...

Hey everyone, how are we all doing? Hope you have all had a great Christmas so far? I've got another image I just wanted to talk you through tonight, mainly just because I like it and, again, it's a little bit different.

In June last year I, along with my second shooter Jetta Sneddon Photography Photography, had the pleasure of shooting the gorgeous wedding of Megan and Ellis at Whinstone View Wray's Barn. The only problem being it completely lashed down all day which meant we couldn't get those gorgeous outside shots we wanted.

So a month later, and with gorgeous sunshine and the lovely couple once again in their wedding finery we headed to Saltburn Beach for some gorgeous outdoor shots. We got those shots in the bag and just as we were walking back to the cars I just saw this out of the corner of my eye....

Yes, I know it's a bin, of course it is, but just look at the way the light is dancing on it. Look at those colours. I may never look at a bin the same ever again 🙂 It just shows that even the most mundane and ordinary objects and scenes can be beautiful.

The technical stuff, for those who enjoy it, the shot was taken at 9.44pm on a Nikon D7100 with a Sigma 17-50 lens at 1/250th of a second, f4, ISO at 100, focal length 17mm, edited only in Lightroom.

Your comments good, bad or indifferent are very welcome. Oh, and it is available as a print (because some people want a print of a sexy bin at sunset) from as little as £20, please message me for details, thank you x
